I hope you’re enjoying a well-deserved summer break—whether that means time to relax, recharge, or just soak up a little sunshine.

As we hit the midpoint of the year, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible work each of you is doing. Whether you’re a freelancer or an official, whether you provide CART or captioning services, or whether you support our field in another important way, your dedication to accuracy, professionalism, and excellence continues to move our profession forward.

Behind the scenes, our organization has been busy this summer—planning new educational opportunities, advocating for the profession, and finding new ways to support and connect with members. We’re seeing more engagement in our committees and fresh energy around mentorship and innovation.

Looking ahead, be sure to save the date for our upcoming Miles of Knowledge Virtual Fall Event on September 13th. It will be a great chance to learn, connect, and celebrate the amazing talent in our community. Details are in the newsletter!

In the meantime, I hope you’ll take a little time this summer to reflect on your professional goals and maybe think about how you can get more involved. Whether that’s mentoring a new reporter, joining a committee, or just sharing your experiences, your voice makes a difference.
